FURIA’s CS2 Women’s Team Makes Groundbreaking Transition to VALORANT
FURIA’s female CS2 roster, now known as FURIA VAL Inclusive, has made a groundbreaking move to VALORANT, becoming the first full team to transition to a new game while keeping its original lineup intact.
This squad will now participate in Riot Games’ VCT Game Changers circuit, opening up fresh competitive avenues and enhancing their visibility in the esports landscape.
In their announcement, the South American esports organization expressed, “We came, we saw, and we conquered in Counter-Strike. New scene, same strength. The FURIA CS Fe is FURIA VAL Inclusive! With a passion for competition and an unquenchable desire to win, the Panther will explore yet another scene, with the same tenacity as always!”
FURIA’s female CS2 roster has spent six years under the organization, carving out a reputation as one of the most successful teams in the South American women’s esports scene. They secured multiple regional titles and reached three ESL Impact League Finals, ultimately clinching the championship in Season 7 at DreamHack Dallas in May 2025.
However, the ESL Impact circuit was put on indefinite hold at the end of 2025, citing an unsustainable economic model. This led several organizations to disband their women’s CS2 rosters, resulting in fewer opportunities for teams to compete at the highest level.
Given these circumstances, FURIA fe’s transition to VALORANT is not unexpected. The VCT Game Changers, which focuses on women and marginalized genders in the VALORANT esports ecosystem, offers a more sustainable competitive environment following the downturn of the women’s CS2 circuit.
Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, a legend in the CS2 scene, shared his thoughts on the situation, expressing disappointment over the current state of the female Counter-Strike pro scene while recognizing the significance of FURIA’s decision. He remarked, “It’s a sad snapshot of the failure/lack of interest from both us viewers and Valve/tournaments in making an effort to find alternatives so that the ecosystem could function,” while also noting that FURIA’s female players are moving to a “more vibrant scene” in VALORANT.
“On the other hand, it’s great that there’s another game where they can keep competing with even higher quality. I think it’s a great story and, to be totally honest, I’m curious to see how they’ll fare against the girls who’ve been playing for a long time,” he added.
As FURIA fe departs from CS2, the players now have the opportunity to establish themselves in VALORANT without losing the structure and chemistry they’ve built together. The challenge ahead is for the team to swiftly adapt to a new FPS and compete against squads with years of experience in the VCT Game Changers scene.
