GameSquare Buys Back 1.5 Million Shares of Common Stock

GameSquare Holdings, a publicly traded esports and gaming company, recently revealed that it bought back over 1.5 million shares of its common stock in February for $499,137, averaging around $0.33 per share. Following these buybacks, the company noted it has about $2.5 million left under its current repurchase authorization.

Justin Kenna, the CEO, emphasized that despite the ongoing fluctuations in the crypto and digital asset markets, GameSquare’s strategy is firmly rooted in the robustness of its core operations. He pointed out that in the third quarter of 2025, the company’s operating segments accounted for roughly 98% of total revenue and about 95% of gross profit, highlighting that GameSquare is primarily an operating entity rather than a mere reflection of digital asset values. This solid foundation, combined with their yield-focused Digital Asset Treasury strategy, allows them to generate returns, manage risks, and strategically deploy capital, including through careful share repurchases.

GameSquare plans to continue its strategy of opportunistically buying back its common stock. Since October 2025, the company has repurchased a total of 5.05 million shares for $2.5 million, averaging approximately $0.49 per share.

On February 23, GameSquare announced an asset purchase agreement with BENlabs to acquire TubeBuddy. They also provided 2026 guidance on a pro forma basis, projecting revenue between $85 million and $90 million, a gross margin of 35-40%, and an Adjusted EBITDA exceeding $5 million, which includes plans for the TubeBuddy business.

GameSquare operates a diverse portfolio of businesses, including FaZe Esports, marketing agency Zoned Gaming, marketing firm Code Red Esports, production company Fourth Frame Studios, merchandising company Mission Control, viewership and engagement measurement platform Stream Hatchet, and talent agency Click. Additionally, the company is involved in cryptocurrency mining.
