Ghost Gaming Joins Kennesaw State’s Call of Duty Program in Commercial Partnership

Ghost Gaming has teamed up with Kennesaw State University to launch a new Call of Duty team through Ghost Academy, the Atlanta-based organization’s development initiative. This partnership, announced on Thursday, will see KSU field a Premier roster in collegiate and amateur competitions starting in the 2026-27 academic year. Ghost will provide support for coaching and player development, while KSU will handle recruitment, eligibility, academic oversight, and facilities.

The collaboration aims to create sponsorship and branding opportunities for the program, including jersey sponsorships, broadcast integrations, watch parties, and sponsored video series. Students will be actively involved in developing and executing these deals. However, the financial details and revenue-sharing arrangements have not been disclosed. Ghost, part of Resurgens Gaming based in Georgia, is committing over $1 million annually to its operations in the state, which encompasses player development, workforce curriculum, K-12 esports, and game development, beyond just this partnership.

Ghost has previously managed school-age teams under its academy brand and recognized youth XP League players as Ghost Gaming Academy teams in 2023. The KSU partnership is seen as a foundational step in establishing a Georgia Esports Network that connects the state’s colleges with esports companies, sponsors, and employers, especially as other institutions are scaling back their esports programs.
