This tournament marks the return of CS Majors to Cologne for the first time since 2016, when FalleN’s SK Gaming squad clinched their second major of that year. Here’s what you need to know about the IEM Cologne 2026 Major, including details on the venue, schedule, format, and more.
The playoffs will take place at the LANXESS Arena, while the group stage will unfold at The Palladium in Cologne. The initial two stages will be closed to the public, with a select group of 500 spectators allowed for Stage 3. The playoffs will see an increased capacity, accommodating over 15,000 fans thanks to an optimized arena setup.
The tournament will run for 21 days, featuring a three-day break between Stage 3 and the playoffs to give teams time to prepare for the quarterfinals.
With the expansion to 32 teams, the tournament is divided into three competitive stages. Each stage will see 16 teams, with 8 advancing to the next round. Here’s the schedule for Stage 1 of the IEM Cologne 2026 Major.

We will keep the schedule and results updated as the tournament progresses.
The event will kick off with two stages that include a mix of best-of-one and best-of-three matches. However, unlike previous majors, Stage 3 at IEM Cologne 2026 will consist solely of best-of-three matches, allowing teams to showcase their skills across multiple maps.
