London Colosseum Set to Welcome 25,000 Fans for Esports Tournaments
Plans for a new 25,000-seat ‘London Colosseum’ venue have been unveiled by a business consortium.
If realized, this arena will be located at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, East London, where the Copperbox Arena has been a staple for esports events, hosting competitions like Apex Legends ALGS, Rocket League RLCS, and League of Legends MSI, along with the upcoming VALORANT Masters London in June 2026.
The Colosseum aims to host world championship boxing events, supported by prominent boxing promotions, and basketball games, positioning itself as the European home for a London NBA franchise in a new league focused on Europe.
A press release states that the London Colosseum “is tailored to host major international tournament finals” and that proposals for the venue “are drawing interest from major sports investors.”
“By connecting London’s growing reputation as a gaming capital to the explosive gaming market in the Middle and Far East,” it adds, “the venue will become a central hub for the future of competitive gaming.”
The development will feature a multifunctional tower that includes a hotel, residences, and community spaces, all while promising low-carbon construction.
Key partners in this project include property specialists, a renowned boxing institution, a sports consultancy, and a prominent architectural firm.
Kevin Davis, Director of the property specialists, stated: “As a global city with a track record for world-class venues, the London Colosseum will be the most ambitious multi-sport project since the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
“We are in active talks with international partners who recognize that these three sports will drive significant economic and cultural impact and contribute to substantial growth in the UK economy.”
