The BGMI esports scene has been rocked by controversy, as Medal Esports has officially parted ways with its BGMI pro, PrinceOG. The announcement came via the team’s Instagram handle, confirming the player’s permanent exit following a brief suspension.
What Actually Happened?
This development follows serious allegations of misconduct that surfaced online. According to the alleged victim’s statement, Prince initiated contact via Instagram in November 2024, misrepresenting his age as 18 while reportedly being significantly older. The accusations further claim that Prince manipulated the victim’s Aadhaar card—a vital Indian identity document—in a move allegedly aimed at hiding her actual age and identity.
More disturbingly, the victim alleges that Prince took her to a hotel, where they reportedly engaged in unprotected sexual activity, resulting in a medical condition. The victim also shared what appeared to be screenshots of sexually explicit chats between her and Prince, suggesting that he was aware of her age at the time.
Medal Esports Previously Suspended PrinceOG
These revelations sparked immediate backlash from the community and led Medal Esports to take swift action. The organization suspended Prince and initiated an internal investigation, emphasizing their commitment to ethics and zero tolerance toward misconduct.
This controversy rocked the BGMI community with many industry creators and Esports players like ScoutOP, Mortal, 8bitGoldy, Rushindra Sinha sharing their own views on the topic and demanding a thorough investigation and action by Krafton. Regarding the controversy, Krafton India made the following comments:
“In light of recent developments, we understand that the player has been suspended until further notice. At KRAFTON, we do not tolerate any form of misconduct and remain committed to supporting teams that uphold the values of integrity and fair play.”
PrinceOG No Longer a Part of Medal esports
Medal Esports has also issued a statement on their Social Media handles revealing that they are letting go of PrinceOG from their BGMI roster. The announcement is as followed:
‘Dear community,
After a thorough internal review, we have made the decision to part ways with PrinceOG.
Certain actions were brought to our attention that go against the core values and integrity of our organization.
As a team that upholds professionalism and accountability, we believe it’s in our best interest to move forward without individuals who do not align with our standards.‘
With Medal Esports’ slot secured in BGIS 2025, wether to team will still compete in the LAN Finals is still yet to be determined and announced. In a scene where player conduct is under increasing scrutiny, this move reinforces the importance of professionalism and accountability—both on and off the screen. As of now, PrinceOG has not issued a public response. His future in esports remains uncertain, and the BGMI community is watching closely to see how this unfolds.
