MOONTON Teams Up with PGL for European ML:BB Tournament
MOONTON Games has teamed up with international tournament operator PGL to enhance the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) esports scene in Europe by introducing new tier-2 competitions.
While the financial details of this collaboration remain under wraps, the partnership aims to launch the first-ever PGL MLBB Challengers later this year, with online events supported by the tournament platform Battlefy.
The PGL MLBB Challengers will kick off with an open qualifier on January 13 (Tuesday), featuring a single-elimination, Best-of-One (BO1) format. The top eight teams from the qualifiers will move on to the Main Event, set for January 16 – 18. Phase 1 matches will be played in a Best-of-Three (BO3) format, while the Upper and Lower Bracket rounds will transition to a Best-of-Five (BO5) format. The Grand Finals will be a thrilling Best-of-Seven (BO7) showdown, where the first champions of the event will be crowned.
“Hosting our first MLBB tournament in Europe is a significant milestone for PGL Esports,” stated Sebastian Hudisteanu, broadcast producer at PGL. “Mobile esports is rapidly expanding in the region, and MLBB is leading the charge. This partnership with MOONTON Games allows us to broaden our esports portfolio and contribute to the growth of mobile esports in Europe. We’re eager to engage with a passionate community, support emerging talent, and help cultivate a sustainable and vibrant MLBB esports ecosystem in the area.”
