S8UL’s Historic EWC 2026 Campaign — India’s Biggest Esports Presence on the World Stage
As the Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris enters its final stretch, it is worth pausing to acknowledge just how extraordinary S8UL Esports’ campaign has been. The Mumbai-based organisation has competed across 13 titles at EWC 2026 — making it one of the most represented organisations at the entire event from any country in the world, not just India.
The Titles and What S8UL Achieved
S8UL’s EWC 2026 campaign spanned Apex Legends, BGMI, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Chess, EA Sports FC, Fatal Fury, Fortnite, Honor of Kings, MOBA Legends 5v5!, PUBG: Battlegrounds, Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, and Trackmania. The Chess campaign delivered some of India’s most talked-about individual performances at the event, with GM Nihal Sarin facing off against the world’s best rapid players including Magnus Carlsen, Hikaru Nakamura, and Alireza Firouzja. S8UL’s Apex Legends roster had earlier in 2026 finished fifth at the ALGS Championship in Sapporo — the best-ever result by an Indian organisation in Apex Legends globally — coming into EWC with real momentum.
In Free Fire, S8UL finished 11th in the Grand Finals — a tough result but a meaningful one given that this was the first time Free Fire had returned to EWC following the title’s temporary absence from India. The BGMI squad competed with a roster that featured national team players including NakuL and LEGIT, gaining invaluable international LAN experience ahead of ENC 2026.
What This Campaign Means for Indian Esports
S8UL’s EWC 2026 presence is unlike anything an Indian esports organisation has attempted before. Competing across 13 different titles — spanning mobile, PC, console, fighting games, racing, and strategy — requires a level of infrastructure, recruitment, and operational complexity that most organisations globally cannot match. That an Indian org is operating at this scale on the world’s biggest esports stage is a genuine landmark for the country’s competitive ecosystem, and the experience gathered across every title will feed directly into India’s preparations for ENC 2026 in Riyadh in November.
