Tarik Bids Farewell to VALORANT Watch Parties
Tarık “Tarik” Çelik has announced that he will be stepping back from hosting VALORANT watch parties, marking the end of his impressive multi-year journey that established him as one of the most recognizable voices in co-streaming for the VCT.
In a post on X, the Sentinels creator expressed gratitude, saying, “Special shoutout to everyone who was a part of it. After a short break, I’ll be back to gaming streams. Thanks for the memories.”
Tarik shared, “Hey guys. To keep it short and sweet, I’m stepping away from hosting watch parties. The past few years have flown by and it’s been a hell of a ride. Special shoutout to everyone who was a part of it. After a short break, I’ll be back to gaming streams. Thanks for the memories ❤️”
His watch parties became a staple during major VALORANT events, particularly the flagship Champions Tour. He was frequently recognized by Riot Games as an official NA co-streamer for VALORANT Champions.
His streams ran concurrently with Riot’s main broadcasts on platforms like Twitch and YouTube, often featuring pro guests and insider commentary that added depth beyond the official streams. Notable sessions with players like TenZ and JohnQT were among his most engaging watch parties.
In April 2025, Tarik made headlines when Ben Affleck made a surprise appearance during a Sentinels match as part of a promotional campaign for The Accountant 2, which reportedly garnered over five million views across social media in just a few days.
Despite a lighter schedule in 2025 compared to the previous year, Tarik maintained his status as the top VALORANT streamer in terms of audience engagement, with StreamsCharts ranking him No. 1 for the year, accumulating 25.6 million hours watched across Twitch and YouTube. His coverage of VALORANT Champions 2025 alone attracted over 2.2 million hours of viewing time, according to Escharts.
Having entered Riot’s FPS scene with a solid reputation, Tarik was already a well-known figure as a former CS:GO pro, where he won the ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018 with Cloud9 and earned MVP honors, making history as part of the only North American team to win a major. He transitioned to full-time streaming in 2019 and joined Sentinels as a content creator in August 2022.
In VALORANT, he quickly rose to prominence as a co-streamer, earning multiple Streamer Awards and Streamy nominations, including wins for Best FPS Streamer in 2021 and 2023, as well as a Streamy Award for Competitive Gamer in 2022. He was also featured in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list for 2024.
On the tournament front, Tarik has organized and headlined showmatches and invitational events, including the Ludwig x Tarik Invitational series in 2024, which featured $50,000 prize pools, along with other Sentinels-affiliated showmatches in 2023.
Despite stepping back from watch parties, Tarik will continue his role as a content creator for Sentinels and ProCity VAL, and he has assured fans that he will return to gaming streams after a brief hiatus. It’s understandable if VCT fans feel disappointed, as his match watch parties will be on hold for now.
