Team SouL Win BMSD 2026, Earn PMGC Berth and ₹30 Lakh Prize

Team SouL are the champions of BMSD 2026. The S8UL-owned squad finished the Grand Finals at Savaaya Convention in Hyderabad on October 18 with 155 points and two chicken dinners, winning the second major BGMI title of their year after BGIS 2026. The victory earned them ₹30 lakh in prize money and made them the first Indian team to qualify for the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2026, which takes place in Türkiye.

How SouL Won Under the Smash Rule

SouL entered the final day in fourth place with 88 points. Nakul, the team’s IGL, carried the momentum from a chicken dinner on day two, and the team started the last day strongly in Rondo. SouL became the first team to reach the Smash Zone, getting to 127 points after 14 matches. That meant a chicken dinner would end the tournament, and they nearly did exactly that in match 17, only for another team to deny them the win.

The finish came in the final match. Nebula Esports eliminated Legit, Joker and Goblin early, leaving Nakul to survive alone into the end zones. Because the other teams in the Smash Zone could not turn their starts into a win, SouL were crowned champions by points rather than by a final-match chicken dinner. Nakul became the only IGL to win two official events in a single year.

Gladiators Esports finished second, just 12 points short of the title, while 8Bit Esports took third place. 8Bit had been the most consistent team across the first two days but earned only 14 points in their first five games on the final day and were the last team to reach the Smash Zone.

Awards, BMIC Spots and What Comes Next

BMSD 2026 also doubled as a qualifier. The top six teams from the Grand Finals standings earned places at the BGMI International Cup (BMIC) 2026 in Mumbai at the end of October. SouL will be joined by Gladiators Esports, 8Bit Esports, Blitz x Epigrotive, K9 Esports and Outrage, and they will face teams from Japan and South Korea. Indian teams are also expected to compete for two PMGC slots through that event.

KRAFTON India Esports honoured individual performers as well. 8Bit’s Shubh was named tournament MVP, while SouL’s Legit won both Finals MVP and Best Grenadier. TAG’s Harsh took Best Clutch, and Areeb won Best IGL. Joker had an emotional moment on stage, speaking to fans about the joy of qualifying for an international event.

The title also changes the story of the BGMI season. Orangutan won the inaugural BMSD in 2025 with 147 points while SouL finished third, and a year later SouL have climbed two places higher. BGIS and BMSD are two of the biggest events on the Indian calendar, and winning both makes SouL the dominant name of 2026.

For fans, the team’s run is a reminder of how tight the final day can be under the Smash Rule. With a roster of Nakul, Legit, Joker and Goblin, SouL showed patience and composure in the closing stages and left Hyderabad with the trophy, prize money and their ticket to the global stage.
