Team Spirit Secures Third Aegis with Victory at Dota 2 TI 2026
Team Spirit etched their name in Dota 2 history by securing their third Aegis of Champions, triumphing over TEAM VISION with a nail-biting 3-2 victory in the grand final of The International 2026 held in Shanghai, China.
The five-game showdown at the Oriental Sports Center tested both teams to their limits, but Spirit maintained their composure in the decisive Game 5, becoming the first organization to win Dota 2’s premier event three times.
This victory added another milestone to the careers of Spirit’s core players, including Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk, Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov, and Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov, along with Denis “Larl” Sigitov, Alexandr “rue” Filin, and Alexey “not_me” Kosmynin.
Yatoro and Collapse made history as the first players to win three TI championships, achieving this remarkable feat across six appearances. Miposhka also celebrated his third title, with two Aegis wins as a player and one as a coach this year.
Larl now boasts two TI titles, while rue claimed his first Aegis in just his second TI appearance. Notably, not_me became a TI champion in his debut at the tournament.
The grand final attracted over 500,000 viewers on Twitch and YouTube, showcasing one of the most fiercely contested TI finals in recent memory.
In a surprising twist, TEAM VISION’s standout carry, Alan “Satanic” Gallyamov, opted for Juggernaut in Game 5, aiming to rewrite the hero’s unfortunate history from the previous year’s TI against Chinese legend Wang “Ame” Chunyu. However, he ultimately fell short of overcoming that legacy.
**Game 1:** Team Spirit took the lead with a commanding victory in 46 minutes and 15 seconds. Yatoro, playing Shadow Fiend, capped off the match with a rampage, finishing with 16 kills, seven assists, and just one death.
**Game 2:** TEAM VISION responded in Game 2, winning in 64 minutes and 29 seconds. Despite Yatoro’s strong performance on Shadow Fiend, VISION’s vgeniy “Noticed” Ignatenko shone on Underlord, providing essential crowd control and finishing with a 14-6-25 record, while Satanic’s Lifestealer dismantled structures.
**Game 3:** Team Spirit regained momentum in Game 3, winning in 45 minutes and 56 seconds. Satanic took on Shadow Fiend this time, but Yatoro’s Terrorblade proved too powerful as he secured key items and dominated team fights. Spirit clinched a crucial clash in the 38th minute, pushing towards victory as Yatoro eliminated Noticed after a risky initiation.
**Game 4:** Facing elimination, VISION kept their cool in Game 4, winning in 44 minutes and 18 seconds. Noticed continued his impressive performance on Doom, targeting Collapse’s Centaur to prevent saves on Yatoro’s Templar Assassin. With strong support from his teammates, Satanic’s Lifestealer dealt significant damage, leading VISION to a surgical win and forcing a Game 5.
**Game 5:** The final match saw Satanic surprise everyone with Juggernaut. VISION started strong, but a pivotal pickoff on Satanic allowed Spirit to secure Roshan and grant Yatoro an Aegis on Lifestealer.
In a critical moment in the 38th minute, Collapse used Lotus Orb on Larl’s Pangolier to reflect Juggernaut’s Omnislash, while rue’s Bane locked down Satanic with Fiend’s Grip, allowing Spirit to eliminate multiple VISION players.
The match remained tightly contested, with VISION managing to take down Yatoro in the 49th minute. However, Spirit found their breakthrough in the 58th minute, eliminating both Satanic and Noticed, which left VISION’s base vulnerable.
The decisive clash occurred in the 64th minute. Spirit kept Yatoro alive with rue’s timely Nightmare save, allowing him to turn the tide of battle. Spirit took down Satanic twice in the final engagement, forcing VISION to call GG as Spirit claimed their third Aegis.
Despite their efforts, TEAM VISION fell short of another TI victory after finishing third the previous year. Veteran mid laner No[o]ne- continues his quest for his first Aegis since entering the Dota 2 pro scene in 2014.
