Valorant Mobile Officially Announced, Pre-Registrations Open in China
After years of speculation and leaks, Valorant Mobile is finally official. Riot Games, in collaboration with LightSpeed Studios, has confirmed the game’s development and opened pre-registrations for players in China. The announcement came shortly after the game appeared on the Huawei App Store under the localized title Valorant: Energy Operation.
Riot Confirms Mobile Launch Starting with China
Riot Games made the news public through an official post on X (formerly Twitter), saying:
It’s really happening. Valorant Mobile has been announced with our partner LIGHTSPEED STUDIOS, and we’re bringing it to China first. We’re excited to bring Valorant Mobile to as many players as possible, but we’re starting in China and taking it from there.”
It's really happening. VALORANT Mobile has been announced with our partner LIGHTSPEED STUDIOS, and we're bringing it to China.
We're excited to bring VALORANT Mobile to as many players as possible, but we're starting in China and taking it from there. We will of course update…
While this is huge news for Valorant fans worldwide, there’s a catch—the beta is currently limited to China. To participate, players must have a QQ or WeChat account, and pre-registration is only accessible through the official Chinese website. Global release details have not yet been shared.
LightSpeed Studios Handling Mobile Development
Interestingly, Valorant Mobile is not being developed solely by Riot. The Chinese version is being co-developed by LightSpeed Studios, a Tencent subsidiary best known for working on PUBG Mobile. Meanwhile, Riot is expected to lead development for the global version once it rolls out.
This collaboration brings mobile expertise to the table, ensuring that the game is optimized for touch controls and mobile performance while preserving the tactical depth and core gameplay of the PC version.
Much like League of Legends: Wild Rift, Valorant Mobile aims to offer a faithful recreation of its PC counterpart, complete with agents, shooting mechanics, and competitive strategy. However, it will feature a mobile-friendly UI and a few exclusive maps, including:
Dust Cargo Yard
Ancient Village
Existing maps like Bind and Lotus will also receive mobile-only layouts, providing a new twist for mobile players.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process
Once done, you’ll receive a confirmation and a special Player Card reward
With pre-registrations now live and gameplay trailers circulating online, Valorant Mobile seems to be progressing quickly. While the global release remains unconfirmed, today’s announcement is a major step forward in bringing Riot’s popular FPS to mobile gamers worldwide.
