Days Gone Remastered: New Modes, Visual Upgrades, and More Coming to PS5 and PC
Bend Studio’s post-apocalyptic action-adventure returns with enhanced visuals, fresh gameplay modes, and deeper immersion.
Release Date and Upgrade Options
Days Gone Remastered is officially dropping on April 25, 2025, exclusively for PlayStation 5. For PC players, all new content will be included in the Broken Road DLC. If you already own Days Gone on PlayStation 4, you won’t have to buy the game again—just pay ₹832 ($10) for a full upgrade to the remastered version.
Pre-orders are live now on the PlayStation Store, and the full game is priced at ₹2,999.
All-New Game Modes for Hardcore Fans
The remaster introduces three fresh gameplay modes that push your survival and speed to the limit:
Horde Assault Mode
This is the ultimate survival test. Horde Assault throws you into relentless battles against endless waves of enemies, including Breakers, Reachers, and Rager bears. The goal? Stay alive as long as possible and rack up a high score.
- Over 20 weapons, including a powerful new flamethrower
- 24 gameplay injectors to boost your character’s abilities
- Playable characters include six fan-favorites like O’Brian and Lisa
- Bonus rewards and unlockables for top performance
Horde Assault is considered end-game content but is unlocked from the moment you launch the game.
Speedrun Mode
Think you’ve mastered the story? Try beating it as fast as possible. Speedrun Mode introduces a built-in timer, challenging you to complete the main campaign in record time. It’s perfect for players who love pushing limits and comparing times with others.
Permadeath Mode
For the truly fearless, Permadeath Mode removes second chances. Die once, and it’s game over. Pair this with Hard 2 or Survival 2 difficulty for a brutally unforgiving experience. No extra rewards here—just pure bragging rights.
Enhanced Photo Mode for Virtual Photography Fans
The remaster adds more depth to the already popular Photo Mode. Players can now:
- Set the time of day
- Use a three-point lighting system
- Add new logos and filters to their shots
Whether you’re capturing serene forests or a horde chasing you through Oregon’s wilderness, the tools are now more powerful than ever.
Visual and Performance Upgrades on PS5
The remaster doesn’t just bring gameplay changes—it also makes full use of the PlayStation 5’s hardware:
- Sharper lighting and shadow quality
- Improved foliage draw distance
- Support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR)
- Both Quality Mode and Performance Mode included
While full PS5 Pro enhancements haven’t been detailed yet, the game already offers a significant step up from the original.
Immersive DualSense Support
The PS5’s DualSense controller gets a workout in this remaster:
- Adaptive Triggers provide unique resistance for each weapon
- Haptic Feedback simulates road textures, engine revs, and environmental effects
These features add a new layer of immersion, making every fight and bike ride more intense.
Days Gone Remastered is shaping up to be more than a simple visual upgrade. With new modes, technical enhancements, and immersive PS5 features, it’s a solid reason to revisit Deacon St. John’s world—or experience it for the first time.
