Fragpunk Scheduled For Console Release On April 29
PS5 and Xbox Series X/S gamers finally get their hands on the hero shooter this month
FragPunk, the high-octane 5v5 hero shooter developed by Bad Guitar Studio and published by NetEase Games, is officially launching on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on April 29, 2025. Originally slated to drop on March 6 alongside the PC version, the console launch faced a sudden delay due to technical issues during certification testing.
Why Was FragPunk Delayed on Consoles?
Just a day before its global release, NetEase announced that the console versions hit an unexpected snag during the final compliance checks. Rather than risk a subpar experience, the team hit pause to polish performance and ensure the console release matched the PC in quality.
The PC version, however, launched on schedule and has already seen a solid reception thanks to its fresh mechanics and competitive gameplay.
What Console Players Get in Return
NetEase didn’t leave players hanging. Here’s how they’re making up for the delay:
- Full Pre-order Refunds: All console pre-orders were canceled, and full refunds were processed automatically.
- Free Season 1 Rewards: Console players will receive all Season 1 engagement rewards—including cosmetics, XP, and in-game currency—on launch.
- Bonus $10 In-game Currency: Those who pre-ordered will also get $10 worth of premium currency when they log in.
- Pioneer Pack Plus Returns: This exclusive pre-order bundle will be available again for a limited time post-launch.
What Makes FragPunk a Standout Hero Shooter?
FragPunk mixes tight 5v5 gunplay with a wild twist—the Shard Card system. With 70+ cards that can bend or break gameplay rules each round, it brings insane variety and strategic depth to every match.
With the new release date locked for April 29, console players can finally prep to jump into FragPunk’s chaotic, card-fueled battles and make up for lost time.
