Marvel’s Wolverine Has a Release Date — Insomniac’s Most Brutal Game Yet Arrives September 15

Logan is finally getting the game he deserves. After years of fan anticipation following the game’s initial reveal at the 2021 PlayStation Showcase, Insomniac Games confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine launches on September 15, 2026, exclusively on PS5. This is the same studio behind the Spider-Man trilogy, and everything shown so far suggests they’re delivering something significantly darker and more violent than anything they’ve made before. The game has been rated M — a first for Insomniac.

Story, Characters and What the Gameplay Looks Like

The game follows James “Logan” Howlett as he investigates a series of mutant abductions being carried out by the Reavers, a cybernetically-enhanced mercenary group working under the orders of billionaire industrialist Bolivar Trask, who is driven by a belief in human superiority. Jean Grey is confirmed as a major ally and non-playable character, with the story centered around the broader persecution of mutants. The gameplay trailer shown at the June State of Play was extended and brutal — Wolverine’s claws tear through enemies in ways that feel appropriately visceral. Combat draws from Insomniac’s Spider-Man formula but with a much heavier, more ground-level feel, and a Technique Point system allows players to customise how Logan fights.

Pre-Order Bonuses, Editions and INR Pricing

The Standard Edition is priced at $69.99 and comes with the Classic Brown Suit, Reflective Claws, one additional Technique Point, and four PS Network avatars featuring Logan, Jean Grey, Mystique, and Sabretooth. The Digital Deluxe Edition is priced at $79.99 and adds five exclusive suits, five claw variants, and three additional Technique Points. In India, the Standard Edition is expected to be priced at approximately ₹4,999 on the PlayStation Store based on Sony’s standard regional pricing. The game is a PS5 exclusive with no PC version currently announced, though Sony’s recent pattern suggests a PC release could follow a year or more after launch.
