Palworld 1.0 Has Arrived — And It’s the Biggest Update in the Game’s History
After over two and a half years in Early Access, Palworld finally crossed the finish line. Pocketpair’s monster-collecting survival game launched its full 1.0 release on July 10, 2026, across PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Mac — simultaneously on all platforms, with full cross-play matchmaking enabled from day one. The reception has been enormous. The game peaked at over 855,000 simultaneous players on Steam just two days after launch, making it the platform’s most-played game of 2026 and placing it among the top 15 biggest launches in Steam history.
What Version 1.0 Actually Adds
Pocketpair described 1.0 as “bigger in scale than any update” — and the patch notes back that up. Over 70 new Pals have been added, along with two brand-new areas including Sunreach and the long-awaited World Tree, the towering landmark that has been sealed behind a red barrier since the game launched in 2024. Tower bosses have been completely reworked to feel more dynamic. Wildlife Sanctuaries and No-Hunting Zones have received major overhauls. A full PvP mode has been introduced natively in the base game — not a mod or custom server option, but a proper built-in competitive mode. The update also shipped with a 27-page changelog, which speaks for itself.
Price and Saves — What You Need to Know
Pocketpair confirmed that the price of Palworld is staying at $29.99 despite the enormous scope of the 1.0 release — no price increase at all. The update is free for all existing owners across every platform. Existing save data carries over, though the studio recommends starting a fresh run for the best 1.0 experience. For Indian players, the game is available now on Steam and PS5. A Nintendo Switch version has not been confirmed, and given the ongoing legal dispute between Pocketpair and Nintendo, one doesn’t appear to be coming anytime soon.
