PUBG Mobile x Attack on Titan Update Drops on May 8
After weeks of fan speculation and teaser posts, Krafton and Level Infinite have officially confirmed a high-profile crossover between PUBG Mobile and the hit anime series Attack on Titan. The collaboration arrives globally as part of the 3.8 update on May 8, 2025
Teased on PUBG’s social media back in April and confirmed via a short teaser trailer released this week, the crossover introduces massive gameplay shifts, exclusive cosmetics, and an all-new themed mode.
New Features in the AOT Collaboration
Titan Transformation Mechanic
One of the biggest changes in this update is the ability to transform into Titans. Players can collect Titan Potions at high-loot zones like Mylta or the shooting range. Once consumed, these potions temporarily transform players into powerful Titans, giving them immense strength to crush enemies in close combat — a first for PUBG Mobile.
ODM-Inspired Mobility Gear
Borrowing from AOT’s iconic Omni-Directional Mobility (ODM) gear, the game now includes mechanical hooks. These allow players to zip across terrain and scale buildings for rapid movement or surprise attacks. Whether you’re escaping a gunfight or ambushing enemies from above, this new gear dramatically enhances mobility and vertical gameplay.
Steampunk Frontier Mode & New Locations
A fresh Steampunk-themed Frontier mode debuts alongside the crossover, bringing new areas and interactive features:
- Aetherholm: A massive train station with working elevators and hidden rooms.
- Cargo Hub: A tightly packed combat zone laced with train tracks.
- Hot Air Balloons: Floating surveillance points ideal for sniping or recon.
Two functional trains have also been introduced:
- Epoch Cargo Train: Delivers high-tier loot.
- Express Train: Loops continuously for dynamic transport and shootouts.
Titans Invade Maps
Players will encounter roaming Titans on the following maps:
- Erangel
- Livik
- Sanhok
These colossal threats introduce a new PvEvP twist, where players must decide whether to engage or evade while battling each other.
Cosmetics, Skins & Rewards
The update includes a lineup of Attack on Titan-inspired skins, featuring:
- Eren Yeager
- Levi Ackerman
- Mikasa Ackerman
- Armin Arlert
- Annie Leonhart
Additionally, fans can unlock themed weapon skins for the M416, DBS, and QBZ, Titan suits, and parachutes.
A Prize Path event, similar to previous collaborations like Dragon Ball Super, offers exclusive rewards in exchange for UC and completing in-game milestones.
This collaboration is one of PUBG Mobile’s most ambitious to date, merging the high-stakes combat of battle royale with the chaos and style of Attack on Titan. Players can dive into the new content starting May 8. This update is also shortly expected to be released in India through Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). The exact date is however unknown for which we will have to wait for confirmation.
