Rocket League’s Star Wars Event Brings Car Wars LTM, Free Rewards & Galactic Cosmetics

Rocket League is bringing the Force to the field with its latest Star Wars-themed event, kicking off on May 2. Packed with limited-time modes, crossover cosmetics, and themed bundles, the two-week celebration offers plenty for both fans of the franchise and regular Rocket League players. Whether you’re looking to blast a goal into a Death Star or deck your car out like a Sith Lord, this event has you covered.

Running until May 16, the event features exclusive challenges and returning fan-favorite modes. Watch the trailer below:

Car Wars: A New Way to Score

The centerpiece of the event is Car Wars, a limited-time mode that ditches standard goals in favor of a thermal exhaust port—a direct homage to the Death Star’s iconic weak point.

To make these precision plays possible, the Spike Rush modifier is active. This allows the ball to stick to your car temporarily, giving players more control while lining up shots into the narrow target zone.

Classic Mode Returns: G-Force Frenzy

Returning for the event is G-Force Frenzy, a fan-favorite 3v3 mode from last year. Players have unlimited boost, but this isn’t your average turbo. It’s significantly more powerful, making matches fast, chaotic, and thrilling.

Free Rewards and In-Game Challenges

As with most Rocket League events, you can unlock free Star Wars-themed cosmetics by completing event-specific quests. Rewards include:

  • Empire wheels
  • Force Lightning trail and boost
  • Stormtrooper decal for the Octane
  • Stormtrooper helmet and TIE Fighter toppers

Many of these rewards are cross-compatible with Fortnite, so you can carry your galactic style across games.
