Sony LIV Secures Esports World Cup 2025 Streaming Rights for India

NODWIN Gaming, one of South Asia’s top esports organizations, has partnered with Sony LIV to bring the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025 to Indian audiences. The deal gives Sony LIV Hindi and English streaming rights for select matches, significantly expanding the tournament’s reach in India.

EWC Matches in Local Languages

The coverage begins on July 24 with a Hindi broadcast of the chess competition. From July 25, fans can catch Hindi streams of EWC matches, including the much-anticipated performance of India’s BGMI champions, Aryan x TMG Gaming. Tekken 8 matches will follow from August 13, all available exclusively through the Sony LIV app and website.

Apart from match streams, Sony LIV will also feature behind-the-scenes coverage, weekly highlights, and player interaction segments, aimed at catering to both core esports fans and casual viewers.

Why This Matters for Indian Esports

The EWC 2025, hosted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, boasts a record-breaking prize pool of $70.45 million (over ₹600 crore), bringing together top esports teams from around the world. With Sony LIV as the exclusive Hindi broadcast partner, and NODWIN Gaming handling regional media distribution, the collaboration is expected to make esports more accessible and relatable for Indian viewers.

This partnership comes at a crucial time for India’s esports scene. Aryan x TMG Gaming, fresh off their BMPS 2025 victory, will be representing the country in BGMI. Meanwhile, India’s chess lineup is stronger than ever, featuring Grandmasters Arjun Erigaisi, R Praggnanandhaa, Aravindh Chithambaram, Vidit Gujrathi, Nihal Sarin, and rising star Aarav Dengla, all competing under top esports banners.

With esports viewership on the rise, the move signals a major step toward making competitive gaming part of India’s mainstream entertainment ecosystem. Hindi-language coverage, in particular, ensures regional audiences can engage more deeply with the global event, while the additional shows and fan-focused content promise to make the EWC experience more immersive than ever.

The Esports World Cup 2025 is not only a global stage for competitive gaming but also a chance for India to showcase its rapidly growing talent pool. For Indian esports fans, this collaboration is set to deliver the action like never before—directly in their preferred language and on one of the country’s most accessible streaming platforms.
