Super Mario Run Introduces Limited-Time Event Inspired by Super Mario Bros. Wonder

A fresh in-game event has arrived in Super Mario Run, celebrating the upcoming release of Super Mario Bros. Wonder for the new Nintendo Switch 2. The limited-time event brings several elements from the Wonder universe into the mobile game, giving players new challenges and exclusive cosmetic rewards to unlock.

Special Event Mechanics in Toad Rally

The new event primarily focuses on the game’s Toad Rally mode, where players compete to impress Toad spectators through stylish gameplay. During the event, players can fill a special meter by performing actions such as defeating enemies or executing vault moves.

Once the meter is filled, a Wonder Flower appears on the course. When activated, it transforms all the coins across the map into Gold Goombas. Instead of requiring traditional attacks, these enemies can be defeated simply by touching them, making it easier for players to rack up points and progress in the event.

Defeating Gold Goombas also helps players earn stamps, which are used to complete special Stamp Cards tied to the event.

Exclusive Rewards and Decorations

The event introduces four different Stamp Cards, each containing 20 spaces that players can fill by collecting stamps during gameplay. Completing a card rewards players with decorative statues that can be placed in their in-game kingdom.

Some of the statues available through the event include themed characters such as Flower Mario, Captain Toad and Plucky, Luigi and Toadette, and even a statue featuring the Koopalings. These cosmetics give players a chance to personalize their kingdoms with items inspired by the latest Mario adventure.

Additionally, Wonder Flowers will also appear in the Friendly Run mode, allowing players to take part in the event without using Rally Tickets.

A Celebration of Mario’s Expanding Universe

Since its launch in 2016, Super Mario Run has served as Nintendo’s first major mobile entry featuring Mario and his companions. The endless-runner style game quickly gained popularity, surpassing millions of downloads shortly after release and continuing to receive periodic updates and themed events.

The current crossover event acts as a celebration of the broader Mario universe while building excitement for the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Wonder release. Players interested in participating can jump into the event now, as it runs from March 4 through April 3, offering a limited window to earn the special rewards.
