Superman is Soaring into Fortnite This Week: Powers, POIs, and More
Fortnite is gearing up for a massive DC crossover as Superman officially makes his entrance on July 11, bringing new gameplay mechanics, a themed location, exclusive items, and a set of exciting cosmetics.
Superman’s Powers Coming to Fortnite
Starting July 11 at 6:30 PM IST, Fortnite players will have a chance to harness Superman’s legendary abilities. In both Battle Royale and Zero Build matches, a special item called Superman’s Call crystal will spawn randomly on the map. The first player to claim it gains incredible powers — soaring through the skies, using heat vision to destroy builds, and showcasing overwhelming strength.
However, there’s a catch. Once you’re wielding Superman’s abilities, you’ll instantly become a prime target. If another player manages to eliminate you, you’ll lose the powers and revert back to your usual loadout.
New Locations, Weapons, and Buffs
The crossover doesn’t stop with just powers. On July 15, Fortnite’s island will welcome the iconic Fortress of Solitude. Here, players can interact with Superman, who will offer special services in exchange for gold bars.
Players can also look forward to two fresh exotic weapons joining the loot pool:
- Unstable Bounce Grenade, which likely adds unpredictable movement to keep foes guessing.
- Unstable Thunderclap DMR, promising unique mid-to-long range combat dynamics.
Additionally, a new boon called Surging Speed has been introduced. This buff allows players to sprint significantly faster while draining less stamina, adding another layer of tactical movement during fights.
Unlock Exclusive Superman Cosmetics
Fortnite’s collaboration with DC doesn’t end with gameplay. A treasure trove of Superman-themed cosmetics is also on the way. To unlock the Superman Outfit, players will need to progress by gaining 12 account levels through the Super Battle Pass.
Alongside the main skin, players can collect:
- Daily Flight Glider
- Super Cape Back Bling
- Crystal Smasher Pickaxe
- Super Save Emote
It’s not just about Superman either. The update will also introduce the Mister Terrific Outfit and a new The Engineer (DC) Outfit, giving fans even more DC content to enjoy.
Fortnite Keeps Expanding
This Superman event arrives as Fortnite continues to push the boundaries of crossover content. In addition to the DC universe invasion, Fortnite recently rolled out its fast-paced Blitz Royale mode, which just received a brand-new map. Meanwhile, other shooters like Call of Duty are even taking cues from Fortnite, with reports suggesting CoD might soon adopt a similar visual footstep indicator.
With Superman landing in Fortnite on July 11 at 6:30 PM IST, and the Fortress of Solitude opening on July 15, now’s the perfect time for players to jump back into the action, try out the Man of Steel’s powers, and dominate the island in style.
