StarRupture Helium is a crucial resource scattered across the alien landscape, essential for various operations as you progress in the game. While it’s not needed for early crafting recipes, you’ll find yourself in need of significant quantities as you expand your base. Many base-building components rely on Helium, making it wise to establish a reliable supply early on.

Unfortunately, you won’t find any Helium deposits in the starting area, so you’ll need to venture further out. Here are the prime locations to hunt for Helium in StarRupture.

Helium appears as bright purple rocks emitting distinctive purple smoke, and during the initial hours of gameplay, you can only gather it in small amounts. These Helium nodes are scattered across the planet’s surface, and you can harvest them easily with your beam, just like any other ore.

Additionally, some meteorites may contain trace amounts of Helium, so be sure to break them open whenever you encounter them for a chance to snag some of this valuable gas.

As you build your reputation with the Selenian Corporation, you’ll unlock the Helium Extractor, which allows you to harvest larger quantities of Helium in the same manner as other basic minerals.

Look to the north and east of your starting point to find Helium deposits. They require a bit of a trek, but their bright purple hue makes them easy to spot, and they produce the same telltale smoke as the smaller Helium rocks.

Be cautious, as the path to these deposits is patrolled by dangerous Vermin. Equip yourself with weapons and items for defense, and bring enough materials to set up a small base at the Helium site so you can start extracting right away.
