A Guide to Finding Fibrous Pulp in Subnautica 2
Fibrous pulp is an interesting resource in Subnautica 2, as it’s abundant and easy to find. However, with so many sources of fibrous pulp around, it can be tricky to keep track of it, especially since it often blends into the environment.
This resource is essential for crafting basic oily salads (which are quite tasty) and is also used to create fiber and fiber mesh, key components for Basic Fins and the Rebreather. Here’s a straightforward way to gather it.
You can collect fibrous pulp by chopping various plants with a Survival Multitool, including feather kelp, whip gorgon, and macaron sponge. Early in the game, a great spot to start is beneath the Lifepod, where you can find whip gorgon, which resembles thick red tufts of tentacle grass, though it can be confused with similar-looking seagrass that can’t be harvested.
Another excellent location is a cave on the seafloor, about 100 meters northwest of the Lifepod, where you’ll discover plenty of feather kelp growing on the rocks. In fact, feather kelp is commonly found in most caves.
While it’s easy to gather a large amount of fibrous pulp in one go, you’ll use it up quickly and will need to return for more. Don’t forget that you can bring a Portable Locker with you while gathering materials—there’s one conveniently located in the cave directly beneath the Lifepod. Additionally, you can expand your inventory size by interacting with Biobeds.
