Decoding the Lost Letter in Crimson Desert: A Guide
So, you’ve been exploring the world of Crimson Desert and encountered a mysterious stranger who handed you the Lost Letter before vanishing. Now you’re probably wondering what to do next, especially since the game doesn’t provide any clues about the letter’s purpose or how to read it.
Your instinct might have been to check your inventory, but if you came up empty, don’t worry—it’s just the game’s tricky UI at play. Here’s how to handle the Lost Letter.
First, open your inventory. At the top, you’ll notice a row of purple ‘key items,’ which include things like the Visione (if you have it), bounty posters, and Sealed Abyss Artifacts. These aren’t just individual items; they represent hidden categories that you can expand.
Look for the ‘document’ key item category located between the posters and bounty posters. In this section, you’ll find the Sealed Letter from earlier in the main story, the enigmatic Lost Letter, and any other letters you’ve collected, all listed in a column on the left side of your inventory window.
Select the Lost Letter to examine it. Kliff will help translate the text, revealing the stranger’s message. Unfortunately, these Lost Letters (there are several) mainly serve as tutorials and tips. The first one I received explained how stamina works, which I had already figured out by the time I read it.
While it might feel a bit anticlimactic, at least you’ve gained insight into how the UI operates. You’ll be using this same method frequently during quests or when checking out key items you acquire.
