Exploring the GTA 6 Map: Vice City, Ambrosia, and Beyond

The new GTA 6 map may feel familiar, as it’s set in the Florida-inspired state of Leonida, featuring locations like Vice City and other areas reminiscent of Miami. Although it’s been a couple of decades since we last explored this world, the memories of those epic PS2 heists still linger, casting a nostalgic shadow over the series.

The excitement surrounding this return has been building for years, and with the recent delays, fans are eagerly dissecting every official screenshot and trailer for hidden gems. After all, those sleek GTA 6 cars need a vibrant world to roam, and Rockstar’s upcoming sequel looks like a grand adventure back to Vice City, ripe for exploration.

As of June 24, 2026, we’ve updated our insights with all the newly revealed locations from the latest official screenshots that dropped alongside the pre-order announcements. This includes several shops that are at least partially exclusive to the Ultimate Edition.

The initial reveal trailer set the stage, but it was the second trailer that provided a deeper look into the regions we’ll be visiting. So far, six areas have been confirmed for the GTA 6 map, some of which may ring a bell from the 2002 game or from real-life Florida.

There are also some interesting fan projects and developer comments to consider as the release date approaches. Here’s what we know about the regions, including key locations and shops you can expect to find:

Vice City, inspired by real-life Miami, features the Tisha-Wocka flea market, Little Cuba, the Vice City Port, and Ocean Beach. This sunny vacation hub is a standout, with early footage evoking memories of the original Ocean View Hotel and Vice City International Airport.

Thanks to the recent info drop with the pre-orders, we’ve learned about a few shops likely located in Vice City, which are partially exclusive to the Ultimate Edition:

– Customize your vehicles with stylish interiors, rims, and other enhancements.
– Signature styles for both Jason and Lucia, including facial hair, makeup, and nails.
– An exclusive mission in the Ultimate Edition where you raid PTT YOUNGIN$ Illegal Goods Store.

Mount Kalaga, located on Leonida’s northern border, is noted for its “prime hunting, fishing, and off-road trails.” While this doesn’t confirm any gameplay features, it certainly hints at the potential for an RPG-lite experience, perhaps even a fishing minigame.

Historically, GTA hasn’t showcased much variety in wildlife, but GTA 5 and GTA Online introduced dogs, sharks, deer, coyotes, mountain lions, and cows. With Senora National Park packed with wildlife, it’s exciting to think about what new animals might appear in GTA 6.

The Grasslands in GTA 6 are said to host more “deadlier predators and weirder discoveries” beyond just gators. Every screenshot of the wetlands features at least one gator, serving as a reminder to be cautious near any significant body of water.

From the Ultimate Edition bonuses, it’s clear we’ll have access to a garage called Paradise Garage in Watson Bay, complete with a weapon locker, a secure spot for fencing stolen goods, and a place to store your vehicles.

The Leonida Keys, located just south of Miami and the Everglades, appear in the distance in some screenshots. The waters here are a stark contrast to the muddy, gator-infested mangroves found elsewhere, described as “some of the most beautiful and dangerous waters in all of America.” While this could hint at local drug trade dangers, there’s definitely a shark lurking in one screenshot, and we’re hoping for more shark encounters in the game.

Similar to Vice City, Rockstar has unveiled some shops likely found in Leonida’s Stockyard area:

– Offers “elevated” streetwear for both Jason and Lucia.
– An ink bar featuring over 50 signature tattoos for both characters.
– A mod shop in Lake Leonida specializing in off-road modifications and paint jobs for your cars.

Ambrosia seems to be a classic one-company town dominated by the Allied Crystal sugar refinery, which employs most of the residents, while the Final Chapter biker gang “provides almost everything else.” This doesn’t sound promising, as Rockstar describes Ambrosia as the starting point for “the battle for health and wealth” in Leonida.

Port Gellhorn, dubbed “Leonida’s forgotten coast,” appears to be struggling as well. Once a vacation hotspot, it now suffers from economic decline, filled with “cheap motels, shut-down attractions, and empty strip malls.” This instability has likely led to the rise of more predatory industries, with drugs, alcohol, and energy drinks becoming the primary sources of income in GTA 6.
