Disney Dreamlight Valley is set to launch its first update for 2026 on February 11—Puppy Love—which will introduce Lady and the Tramp, along with a brand-new realm. While we know these characters are coming and that there’s a new area to explore, details about the content are still limited. However, there are a few tips to help you prepare for the update.

As with all free updates in Disney Dreamlight Valley, there’s no prerequisite work needed. Since this is the debut of Lady and the Tramp in the game, you won’t need to build existing friendships to unlock them. Instead, your focus should be on accessing the new realm. Here are some ways to get ready for the launch.

The Puppy Love update will introduce a new realm in the Dream Castle, so it’s wise to start accumulating Dreamlight now, as these realms can be quite costly. I anticipate the new realm will require around 15,000 Dreamlight, similar to recent updates like the Inside Out realm, though this hasn’t been officially confirmed.

To efficiently gather Dreamlight, complete Dreamlight Duties. For an extra boost, mining, digging, and fishing can yield Dream Shards, which can be converted into 100 Dreamlight at a time. This farming process can be time-consuming, but it can be done alongside other tasks, as many duties involve farming or cooking, which will also help you prepare for the update.

While the specifics of the quests remain unclear, we do know that we’ll need to prepare dinner for Lady and Tramp. Given their iconic spaghetti scene, it’s likely we’ll need ingredients like tomatoes and wheat for this meal. Cooking is a common theme in unlock quests, so expect some surprises or unique ingredients to gather in the new realm.

To avoid waiting for crops to grow, plant a variety each time you log in. Even if you don’t need them for Lady and Tramp’s unlock quests, they could be useful later, especially if you plan to invite them to the valley and start their friendship quests right away. You don’t want growth times to slow your progress!

Since the new characters are animals, it’s a good idea to spend time boosting your friendship with your animal companions. You can do this by interacting and petting them, making it easy to work on while tackling other tasks. While there’s no confirmation that your animal friends will play a role in the unlock quests, it’s a good strategy to have them on your side.
