If you’re eager to get your hands on new gadgets or features as soon as possible, the Schedule 1 beta branch is the way to go. Luckily, updates for Schedule 1 often drop in the beta a few days before they’re available to everyone, thanks to the developers.
While test builds can be a bit unstable, I’ve always enjoyed exploring early versions to see what’s coming in the next big update. Just remember to back up your save file to avoid any mishaps.
Here’s how to access the Schedule 1 beta branch and a quick reminder on backing up your saves—better safe than sorry!
To access the Schedule 1 beta branch, open your Steam library, go to the Schedule 1 properties menu, and select the beta option from the dropdown.
Follow these steps to get into the Schedule 1 beta branch:
If you’re planning to play with a friend, ensure they’ve followed the same steps so you’re both on the same Schedule 1 build. Different builds can lead to compatibility issues.
Typically, a new Schedule 1 update hits the beta branch a few days before it goes live in the main build. Once the beta becomes the main stable version, just repeat the steps and select the Default Public Version instead of beta.
Stay informed with the latest gaming news and deals curated just for you.
If you’re facing frequent crashes or performance issues, consider switching to Schedule 1’s alternate beta branch. There’s also an alternate build for the main public version, simply labeled ‘alternate’. Either option should provide a similar experience with some performance adjustments, so choose what works best for your setup.
Before switching between Schedule 1 beta branches, make sure to back up your save file using either Steam or Schedule 1’s built-in save export tool. I appreciate games that make this process straightforward!
If something goes wrong, just revisit the same menu and select Import. Locate your zip file, double-click to select it, and Schedule 1 will load your old file seamlessly.
