Guide to Collecting Data Fragments in Black Flag Resynced

I’m not sure who thought daily quests and a battle pass were a good idea for Black Flag Resynced, but here we are. Much like in Shadows, you can earn Data Fragments to unlock unique cosmetics and keys for your Animus projects.

First things first, ensure you have the Eyes in the Dark project active, as this one rewards you within Black Flag itself rather than AC Shadows. Now, let’s dive into how to earn those Data Fragments so you can snag new cosmetics and keys to unlock even more items in the exchange.

The primary method for collecting Data Fragments is by completing anomalies scattered throughout the Caribbean. These activities become available after you finish Sequence 4: This Old Cove, where you take control of Great Inagua. To find anomalies, open your map and press tab (or X on your controller) to access your quest log, then scroll down to see all the available anomalies.

The types of activities you’ll encounter depend on the project you have active in the Animus, but they’re generally pretty straightforward. You’ll either be sinking corrupted ships and convoys or tackling short puzzle sections, like the rifts. Once you complete an activity, you’ll earn the specified amount of Data Fragments, which you can then use to unlock rewards on your current project track.

These rewards can include cosmetics, weapons, and keys, which you can use in the exchange to purchase items inspired by other Assassin’s Creed games. New anomalies will appear based on the timer displayed above each one, so after completing one, you’ll need to wait a bit for another to pop up.
