Guide to Completing Echoes of Silenced Bells in The Blood of Dawnwalker

The Echoes of Silenced Bells quest in Blood of Dawnwalker is one of the first adventures you embark on after leaving Laslea and stepping into the expansive world. Located in the southern part of St. Tyna’s Grove, your mission is to assist Anca in gaining access to St. Tyna’s Convent, where she once served as a nun, and to locate books that could provide the knowledge needed to defeat the Vrahkir. Here’s how to navigate this quest and the consequences of your choices.

The early part of this quest is straightforward. You meet Anca, make your way to St. Tyna’s Convent, and encounter a zombified nun—yes, all the nuns at the convent have mysteriously turned into self-reviving zombies.

The main challenge arises after you evade a horde of them and find yourself overlooking the convent courtyard. You’ll need to traverse this central area and figure out how to safely guide Anca to the library.

Before diving into the details, be sure to collect the Saint’s Tibia item from the corpse beneath the ladder in the western part of the area, as it will be useful in a later quest. Now, here are the two paths you can take:

If you drop down from the ledge and head around the left side of the infirmary (the building directly in front of you with the smoking chimney), you’ll discover a group of trapped soldiers. They were sent by Brencis to retrieve The Relic of St. Tyna from the monastery. They’ll offer you the key to the corridor leading to the library in exchange for the relic.

The relic has been moved from the main church to the sacristy, located on the west side of the courtyard, marked by a small cross on top. You’ll need the Monastery Keys to enter, which you can find hanging in the wooden shed to the right of the building. Once inside the sacristy, check the neck of the deceased nun to retrieve the relic.

At this point, you can choose to return the relic to Brencis’ soldiers if you want, but you might notice it’s an Epic Amulet and prefer to keep it for yourself. If that’s the case, consider following the second method I’ll outline below. Otherwise, trade the Medallion for the keys and speak to Anca to proceed to the library.

If you venture into the house next to the sacristy where you found The Relic of St. Tyna, you can discover the Campana Loquitur on the floor. This document outlines the daily routine of the nuns, which is still being followed even in their zombified state.

Use the Monastery Keys to unlock the door beneath the bell tower in the eastern part of the area, just to the right of the main church doors. Ascend the stairs and interact with the rope at the top. Here’s what to do next:

As you might expect, ringing the infirmary signal will draw all the zombie nuns to the soldiers’ location, leading to their demise. Afterward, send the nuns to the church so you can loot the soldiers and search the surrounding buildings and bodies. Then, return to Anca, inform her that the path is clear, and proceed to the library.

The next steps of the quest are quite simple. You’ll access the convent crypt in search of forbidden books and battle your way through to a final confrontation with Leonica, She Who Speaks With the Devil. Upon defeating her, Anca will reveal that Leonica was actually attempting to cure the nuns, and she’ll want to use the notes to continue that work.

Initially, you can choose between “This won’t end well” or “Absolutely not,” but either choice leads to the same outcome, where you’ll ultimately decide whether to burn the notes or allow Anca to attempt to cure the nuns.

Regardless of your choice, the next quest, Between the Words, will still unfold, Anca’s behavior will remain consistent, and neither option will affect your chances of romancing her or progressing her storyline.
