Guide to Finishing the Battening Down Mission in Arc Raiders

Completing the Battening Down quest in Arc Raiders took me longer than I anticipated. Normally, I can pinpoint locations pretty well, but the leaking oil pipe you need to repair was surprisingly elusive. While you receive directions that guide you toward the correct pipeline, none of the sections appear to be visibly leaking, making it tricky to confirm when you’ve found the right spot.

You also need to photograph the sea wall and collect a sample of seaweed, but those tasks are much simpler. Here’s how to tackle Battening Down in the latest Riven Tides update.

Depending on your spawn point, you might want to adjust the order of these tasks, but photographing the sea wall and fixing the oil pipe are relatively close to each other. Start by heading to the Wavebreaker sea wall in the northeast—I managed to snap a picture at the southern end of the leftmost strut visible on the map.

Typically, for photo objectives, there are several locations where you can take the shot, so you should be able to capture it at the southern end of any of the Wavebreaker struts that run north to south.

Next, make your way northeast across the Wavebreaker to the large, partially buried pipeline. This one is easy to identify since it’s the rightmost pipeline and the only one that’s intact. Go to the southern end where it connects to the sea wall, then follow the leftmost pipe north until you see the yellow interact icon to fix it.

This part took me a while because the section of the pipe you need to repair doesn’t show any visible leaks—it just looks like a regular pipe. Interact with it to complete the repair, and you’re all set.

After that, head west to Azzurro Beach, located just north of the Hotel Panorama Azzurro. You’ll find a small area with a pier, sun loungers, and some tattered parasols, but you need to venture a bit north to the shoreline, keeping an eye out for piles of seaweed.

When Apollo mentions “sampling” the shoreline, he literally means you need to collect some seaweed, so look for a pile and interact with the yellow marked icon to scan it. Once you’ve completed all three tasks, the quest is finished.
