Identifying Quarantine Zone Symptoms: Essential Tools and Insights

In Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, a crucial part of your role is distinguishing between healthy survivors and those on the brink of infection. Misjudging this can lead to an outbreak in your camp, putting your evacuation goals at serious risk.

Even when you encounter a clearly infected survivor, don’t rush to send them to Liquidation without a thorough inspection. To maximize your Respect Points, ensure you document all symptoms observed, even benign ones like freckles or bruises.

Initially, you won’t have access to a complete list of symptoms or the necessary tools for identification. Each day, you’ll learn to recognize more warning signs and acquire new instruments, leading to a complex mental juggling act during each assessment. To help protect your camp from a gruesome fate, here’s a comprehensive guide to the tools available in Quarantine Zone and how to use them for symptom identification.

Start with the thermopulsometer to measure a survivor’s heart rate and body temperature. Record these figures and compare them against the ranges in your symptom list. If you struggle to remember these ranges, consider upgrading your thermopulsometer for color indicators or sound alerts.

Using the reflex hammer is one of the simplest inspection tasks. Just tap a survivor’s arm or leg and observe their reaction. A healthy survivor will have the limb swing back in response.

Next, employ the stethoscope to assess a survivor’s lung health. Position the tool on their chest and hover over any visible black spots, checking both the front and back of the lungs.

Listen closely to the changes in the survivor’s breath as you examine each black spot. A wheezing breath suggests they’re unwell but still fit for the survivor’s block. If you hear a wheezing inhale followed by a silent exhale (sometimes with a clicking sound), that survivor should be quarantined. A growling noise from the lungs indicates a definite infection.

Not all respiratory symptoms will be listed initially, so if you encounter an unfamiliar breathing sound, send the survivor to the lab for further testing.

Utilize the scanner to peer through survivors’ clothing and spot any skin markings. Make sure to inspect their body from all angles, including crouching down to check their feet.

Your flashlight will be essential during this part of the inspection, as some symptoms can be tricky to spot in dim lighting. For instance, red bruises and necrosis can appear similar; both are dark splotches, but red bruises have a deeper purple hue, while necrosis presents as a cooler black with hints of blood red.

When using x-rays, pay special attention to survivors who are hunched over and clutching their stomachs. While not a certainty, these individuals are more likely to exhibit organ abnormalities such as internal bleeding or unusual colors. Rotate through all four views for optimal visibility. The x-ray can also help determine if survivors have been sneaky with contraband.

The matioscope tool allows you to detect parasites and bacteria in the eyes by zooming in at a microscopic level. It’s straightforward to use: just scan each layer until you spot an anomaly, then adjust your focus to identify it.

Once you unlock it, activate the UV light using the button on the luggage table. This light will reveal glowing signs of infection on both the survivor and their belongings.
