Is Big Walk a solo or multiplayer experience?

Big Walk is an exciting co-op adventure crafted by the minds behind Untitled Goose Game. Chris Livingston has been diving into it and is having an absolute blast. This game features a loosely structured open world filled with charming, pointy-nosed characters, and it’s a must-play with friends.

And I mean that literally: going solo in Big Walk won’t get you very far. You can enter the open world alone, but since all puzzles require some teamwork, it’s pretty much a waste of time unless you just want to soak in the atmosphere.

So, does Big Walk offer matchmaking to connect you with random players? Unfortunately, the answer is no. You’ll need to gather your friends beforehand to enjoy the game.

To get started in Big Walk, you can either host a game or join someone else’s session. If you’re joining, you’ll need a session code from the host. This is the only way to team up with friends on PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2.

Alternatively, you can connect through your in-game friends list, which pulls from your Steam friends. This allows you to jump right into a game without needing a code, as long as there’s room in the session.

If you’re eager to play Big Walk but your friends aren’t on board, don’t fret. The internet is full of potential gaming buddies. Consider checking out the Big Walk subreddit, where there’s already a dedicated thread for finding players, or explore the PC Gamer forums for more options.
