Master Speed Skills in Forza Horizon 6 to Conquer the Floor It and Gazoo Racer Challenges

My least favorite challenge in Forza Horizon 6 has to be the Floor It! task, which requires you to rack up three Great Speed Skills in Horizon Racing. There’s a similar challenge in the Gazoo Racer weekly event, where you need to score six Speed Skills using the 2022 Toyota GR86.

While these tasks can be frustrating, they’re essential for progressing through the Series 1: Welcome to Japan Festival Playlist and snagging all the exclusive rewards, including some slick new cars.

To earn Speed Skills, you need to hit at least 100 mph and maintain that speed for a few seconds. Like other skills, there are different tiers that award increasing points.

However, tackling the Floor It! and Gazoo Racer challenges isn’t as straightforward as it seems, so here are some tips to help you out.

For the Floor It! challenge, you need to earn three Great Speed Skills in Horizon Play races, which you can access by clicking on the challenge or navigating to the ‘Online’ tab in the pause menu.

This will match you into a series of three multiplayer races, but keep in mind that the car rankings and tricks will be random. Since you need to hit at least 150 mph to earn Great Speed Skills, getting stuck in a B-class or lower race can make this quite a challenge.

Here are a few strategies that helped me complete it:

Completing the Floor It! challenge will net you the Ford Lightning and three points towards the Festival Playlist rewards.

This is the third step of the Summer weekly challenge, where you need to earn six Speed Skills with the 2022 Toyota GR86. You can do this in the open world or during a race. While the stock version of this car can easily reach 100 mph, I suggest upgrading its speed and acceleration to make the challenge smoother.

Then, find a long, straight road (like the highways around Tokyo) and floor it to max out your speed. It’s technically possible to earn all six in one go if you can maintain your speed long enough, but you’ll likely need to accelerate to 100 mph several times.

Completing this challenge and the subsequent Hakone Nanamagari touge race to finish the weekly challenge will reward you with 25,000 credits and five points towards the Festival Playlist.
