Figuring out how to tackle the Howling Hill expansion in Crimson Desert can be a bit tricky. For a while, I didn’t even realize you could inspect areas on the map to uncover mission lists for your Greymane Freeswords—especially confusing when using mouse and keyboard.
You’ll need to familiarize yourself with this system when you expand your camp during the Bustling Hill quest in Chapter 3. It’s straightforward, so here’s what you need to do.
Before you start the Howling Hill expansion, ensure you have:
You can check your resources in the top right corner while in your camp. This amount is minimal, but if you haven’t donated any to Carl or dispatched other missions, you might be short. Just talk to him and donate a few coins and some food items to meet the requirement.
After that, all you need to do is:
The expansion will take some time, so I suggest you pass the time for about 12 hours or engage in other activities. Remember the method for dispatching missions mentioned earlier. Later, you’ll meet Ross, a dispatch coordinator, who can help you send Freesword missions, but you can still use the map method when you’re away from camp.
Why should you dispatch missions? It’s the primary way to gather camp resources and funds, which will allow you to pursue further expansion projects at Howling Hill, like building a ranch or a farm, especially when the Greymane questline prompts you. Missions will also enable you to undertake projects, such as acquiring a wagon for trading. For now, just enjoy watching your camp grow!
