If you’re like me and always on the hunt for a new tactical game, Menace is an exciting prospect: an interplanetary, turn-based sci-fi tactical RPG from the creators of Battle Brothers, the acclaimed medieval mercenary simulator. If you’re ready to swap out spears and shields for strike cruisers and space battalions, you’ll want to know the launch times and release date for Menace, which I’ve laid out for you below.

Menace will be entering early access, with expectations from Overhype that it will last about a year. This game operates on a larger scale than Battle Brothers, allowing you to command entire units instead of just individual soldiers—but that doesn’t lessen the intensity of the battles your troops will face. Your forces may be less enthusiastic, but here’s when you can set them in motion.

Menace is set to launch in early access at 6 AM PST on February 5. While players on the west coast will need to rise early to be among the first to explore the renegade regions of space, this timing should provide ample playtime during launch day for everyone west of China.

Preloading for Menace is unlikely, as it’s not available for prepurchase. You’ll need to download and install the game at launch. Fortunately, the playtest demo is only 7 GB, so while the full early access client will likely be larger, it shouldn’t take up too much time or hard drive space compared to some of its bulkier counterparts.
