Nightreign’s Undertaker Remembrance Quest Guide
The Undertaker’s Remembrance in Nightreign is the more straightforward of the two DLC quests, but that doesn’t mean it’s a walk in the park. This questline dives into themes of corruption, explores the Undertaker’s relationship with another character, and features some peculiar wall-licking mechanics. To help you navigate through her journey and snag all the rewards, here’s a detailed walkthrough for the Undertaker’s Remembrance, breaking down everything you need to know, step-by-step.
Compared to other character Remembrances, the Undertaker’s quest is a bit shorter, as it doesn’t require as many specific objectives. Here’s a quick step-by-step guide for all six phases before we delve deeper:
You won’t need to defeat either of the new DLC bosses to complete this questline, although you can opt to take them on during Chapters 3 or 5—any successful expedition will suffice.
The first major task for the Undertaker involves battling other characters in the Roundtable Hold, but you won’t face them all at once. Most players will encounter them in the following order, room by room:
I recommend tackling them one at a time to allow your abilities to recharge. Start with heavy jump attacks to stagger them, then go for the backstab. Any perks, abilities, or items you acquire from Relics will be beneficial in this sequence, so make sure you’re equipped for that extra edge.
The second significant challenge in the Undertaker’s Remembrance quest is locating the Scholar mid-game. You can only find them during the Shifting Earth Great Hollow event and while on DLC-specific Expeditions (like the Balancers).
Once you reach that point, you need to do the following:
From here, you must complete an expedition against the Night Aspect, also known as Heolstor, the final boss of Nightreign. After defeating him, you’ll enter the game’s outro in the Roundtable Hold. Approach the corpse but don’t interact with it just yet!
Instead, check your inventory for the Dismembered Finger. Drop it near the corpse—you’ll know you’ve done it correctly when the Undertaker remarks, “This will do… I’m sure.”
After that, you can interact with the corpse as usual by offering it the Nightlord’s Rune, wrapping up the Expedition with the final cutscene. Once you return to the Roundtable Hold, you’ll complete the quest and receive your rewards.
Completing the Undertaker’s Remembrance grants you these rewards:
Both items provide significant advantages in expeditions, especially the Glass Necklace. Be sure to equip it before heading into battle!
