Solutions for the Sliding Puzzle in Inscryption’s First Cabin Challenge

If you’re diving into the Inscryption sliding puzzles, we’ve got you covered. This guide will walk you through solving the first cabin puzzle in Act One, set in the eerie dark room.

Finding and solving these puzzles can be tricky, as you’ll need to tackle four sliding puzzles after cracking the safe code in the cabin and grabbing the key. Completing these puzzles is crucial for earning rewards that will help you grow stronger and ultimately escape the dark cabin. If you’re feeling stuck, keep reading for all the Inscryption sliding puzzle solutions, and we can also assist you with the clock puzzle if needed.

You won’t access the sliding puzzle immediately since it’s tucked away in a locked cabinet. To get the key, start by checking the card book. Stand up from the card table and face Leshy (the creature), and you’ll find the book on your left. Flip through the pages until you spot the ‘Mighty Leap’ card description, which features some red numbers.

The code, 2-7-3, unlocks the safe on the opposite side of the cabin. Inside, you’ll find the key to the sliding puzzle and a new card for your deck: the Stinkbug (you didn’t think the Stoat was the only talking creature, did you?).

Now, turn left to locate the locked cabinet (no need to try the front door; that’s not your escape route just yet). Use the key to kick off the cabin sliding puzzle in Act One of Inscryption.

The sliding puzzle board resembles the one used in your card games against Leshy. To win, you need to achieve a five-point difference, as indicated on the scale to the left. Click the upper half of each tile to move it up, or the lower half to move it down. You can check your point total anytime by clicking the bell icon.

Keep in mind that the tiles (cards) may have special abilities like ‘airborne’ or ‘loose tail’. We’ll detail these effects in the individual sliding puzzle solutions, but you can also reference the book in the cabin if you want to explore on your own first.

For a quick solution to the sliding puzzles, feel free to follow the solutions illustrated in the images below.

The first sliding puzzle is straightforward: shift all the pieces to your attack row (the third row from the top) as shown, and you’re all set. There are no opposing cards or special effects yet, so the damage from these cards will simply total five.

Once completed, you can open the drawer and claim the Skink Card as your reward.

The second sliding puzzle ramps up the challenge. It features a tile with the airborne effect (which bypasses opposing cards to hit the enemy directly), an airborne blocker, and cards with the ‘loose tail’ effect. The latter will leave a lizard’s tail behind when hit, while the card moves to the right.

Start by moving the two tiles in the first column all the way down to get the airborne blocker on your side. The ordinary tile in the second column should also go down, but keep the strong attack card in the third column and the lizard card in the fourth in the attack row.

From the drawer, grab two more cards: the Worker Ant and the Ant Queen. If you step back, two additional sliding puzzles will appear on the cabinet, bringing even more cards into play!

Expect more lizards, airborne cards, and some new ant cards. The ant’s attack power increases with the number of ant cards played on their side, so stacking them can lead to significant damage.

It’s essential to have those ants in the attack row, while keeping an eye on the airborne-blocking card in the third column.

Don’t forget about your new Caged Wolf card!

Two new effects come into play here. The first is the quill sign, which inflicts one damage point to anyone who hits it. The second is the bifurcated strike, which attacks both left and right (indicated by arrows).

Position the bifurcated strike cards in the middle columns on the attack row. Move the normal damage card on the right to the attack row as well, and shift the quill sign card on the left to the second highest row.

As a final reward for completing the cabin sliding puzzle, you’ll receive the wooden squirrel head.

That wraps up what you can do in the cabin for now. Head back to the card game and continue your battle against Leshy!
