As you step into Cyberstan for the first time in Helldivers 2, you might be wondering how to take down those pesky cyborgs and deal with the troublesome Vox Engines. The new Machinery of Oppression update introduces two types of cyborgs, but the strategy to defeat them is quite similar.
Here’s a rundown of the best tactics for taking them out, along with recommendations for a primary and secondary weapon that will make quick work of these augmented foes.
You’ll encounter two distinct cyborg types in Cyberstan, but they share similar weaknesses. Generally, the cyborg’s weak point is the flashing red generator on their chest. For the lightly armored cyborg Radicals, targeting this spot is your best bet to eliminate them before they can unleash their shotgun blasts or engage in close combat with their robotic martial arts.
The cyborg Agitators, however, are heavily armored and come with a swarm of Automaton grunts that can complicate your efforts. While you can still aim for that red weak spot, the key is to first blast away their armor to expose their vulnerable flesh. Medium penetration weapons work well here, but explosive weapons can also be highly effective.
The PLAS-101 Purifier, along with the PLAS-15 Loyalist secondary, can tear through cyborgs when aimed at their chest. I consider the PLAS-101 the top choice for battling Automatons, and I highly recommend it for your Cyberstan adventures. It also handles Devastors and Scout Striders with ease, though you’ll want something heavier for Hulks and War Striders.
If you prefer a more hands-on approach, the new explosive Breaching Hammer is an option, but be prepared to take some shotgun fire while closing the distance with the Radicals—having a shield generator and heavy armor will be essential for that strategy.
I also find the LAS-7 Dagger to be effective against Automatons. It features infinite ammo and can one-shot regular bots, headshot Devastators, and hit the chest weak spot on cyborgs if you’re accurate enough.
