Tips for Acquiring Hardwood in Palworld

The Palworld 1.0 update is a major one, packed with new pals, weapons, and zones to explore, but it’s easy to overlook some of the finer details—like the new crafting resources. As I revisited the tech tree, I zipped through most recipes until I hit a snag with hardwood. This new tier of the essential building material appears in recipes around levels 40 to 50, following planks.

After clearing a few islands, I realized I had overlooked some prime hardwood farming spots right in front of me. To help you avoid the same mistake, here’s how to gather hardwood in Palworld.

You can find hardwood relatively early in the Twilight Dunes and later in the Dancing Sakura Shrine area. For quick navigation, unlock one of the fast travel points in these locations.

You won’t need any special tools to harvest hardwood. I successfully collected it in both areas using the Metal Axe.

In the Twilight Dunes, hardwood drops from the unique, spiky-leaved trees.

At the Sakura Shrine, you can harvest hardwood from any Sakura tree with a red or white trunk.

Be sure to stock up on hardwood and unlock a few nearby fast travel statues, or set up a base close by for easy access. You’ll need 10 hardwood for each High Quality Wooden Board once you unlock that crafting option at level 43 in the tech tree.
