In Helldivers 2, the Cyborgs have hit the battlefield with the Machinery of Oppression update, bringing the fight to their home turf of Cyberstan. These grotesque hybrids of man and machine can pose a significant threat to Helldivers on the ground, but they’re surprisingly easy to take down if you know their weaknesses and come prepared with the right gear. If you’re diving into the chaos of Cyberstan, make sure you’re equipped to handle the Cyborgs!
As Super Earth’s Second Galactic War pushes Helldivers deeper into enemy territory, the Cyborg overlords of the Automatons have unveiled two new units exclusive to Cyberstan: the Agitators and the Radicals.
Agitators serve as the armored field commanders of the Cyborgs. They can direct Helldivers 2 Troopers and wield a powerful laser cannon from a distance. Fortunately, they’re not as tough as they appear, sporting only Light armor. A few well-placed shots to their chest can break off their torso armor, although I haven’t noticed a significant damage increase from doing so.
On the other hand, the Cyborg Radicals are fast, brutish soldiers armed with shotgun-like blasters. They throw smoke grenades to obscure their movements and love to charge in for melee attacks. However, they’re even less protected than the Agitators, only partially covered in Light armor.
Don’t let their lack of armor fool you; Radicals are among the most aggressive units in Helldivers 2. Their blasters can inflict serious damage to your limbs and cause chest hemorrhaging when they get close, draining your stim supply rapidly. They’re also known for their brutal roundhouse kicks, which can knock you down and lead to a flurry of stomping attacks. It’s crucial to eliminate them quickly, ideally before they can close the distance.
While Helldivers 2 Cyborgs can be deadly, their weak armor is a significant vulnerability you can exploit. With Agitators clad in Light armor and Radicals even less protected, almost any weapon can deal damage to these foes. For maximum effectiveness, use weapons with medium armor penetration. The Double Eagle shotgun is a solid choice for taking down Cyborgs, but the PLAS-101 Purifier, PLAS-1 Scorcher, Adjudicator assault rifle, and Coyote assault rifle are also excellent options. These are just a few of the best weapons in Helldivers 2, and there are plenty more that can get the job done, especially support weapons. While battling in Cyberstan, be prepared to face various Automaton constructs, so make sure you also know how to tackle Helldivers 2 Factory Striders and Gunships.
