Top Highguard Wardens and Which Ones to Choose for Your Gameplay
Each Highguard Warden brings a unique set of magical abilities to the battlefield, carving out specific roles that can either help you dismantle the enemy’s base or fortify your own defenses. Every one of the eight Wardens possesses a Tactical, Passive, and Ultimate Power, and mastering all three is essential for maximizing your team’s effectiveness. However, not all characters in Highguard are on equal footing; some clearly stand out more than others based on my experiences so far. If you’re new to the game and curious about which Wardens are top-tier, here’s a breakdown in tier list format.
Though it’s still early in the game, Atticus and Scarlet are already emerging as formidable characters, excelling in both offensive and defensive roles. Slade, Kai, and Mara are also strong contenders, so if you focus on mastering any of these characters, you’ll be a valuable asset to your team. Here’s how the complete Warden roster ranks:
**Rating: S**
Atticus is a fantastic all-around Assault Warden, wielding his Shockspears to zap foes and control space from a distance, whether you’re playing defensively or aggressively. His Powerstorm Ultimate is particularly powerful, ideal for wiping out clustered enemies or breaking through defenses during raids.

Condor is the only Recon Warden in Highguard, and while she’s decent, she’s not a must-have. Her Eyes in the Sky scan ability can be useful but is easily countered if enemies remain stationary. The passive warning from Hunter’s Instinct is somewhat redundant since enemy footsteps are quite loud, but her Soaring Guardian Ultimate can effectively obscure and disorient foes during raids.

Kai stands out as the best Defensive character in Highguard, thanks to his ability to conjure a massive Ice Wall and transform into a sturdy Frost Giant with a shield. He can absorb significant damage and provide cover for teammates, making him versatile in various situations. His Frozen Repair ability is also a great asset for defending your base.

Mara is currently the only Support character in Highguard, but she proves effective in any team setup, as long as you’re willing to engage in combat. Regularly using Soul Armor and activating her Sacrifice passive on fallen enemies is crucial for supporting your team. Timing her Immortal Coil ability correctly is also key to helping teammates rejoin the fight swiftly.

Redmane is the lone Destruction Warden in Highguard, but he falls short of expectations. His abilities like Pounce and Beast’s Roar are primarily geared toward demolishing walls, making him shine only during base attacks. While Pounce can serve as a movement option, its slow execution makes it easy for enemies to take you down mid-leap.

Scarlet is an exceptional assassin-type Assault character with a highly synergistic kit that allows her to outmaneuver opponents in any combat scenario. Her Sandstorm invisibility enables easy flanking, while Shifting Sands creates openings in enemy defenses for your team to exploit. When combined with her Whirling Blades Ultimate, she can decimate an entire team in mere moments.

While slightly less lethal than Atticus, Slade is a solid Assault Warden equipped with incendiary abilities that excel at flushing out enemies and dealing damage over time. Firebomb is effective for arcing over cover or bouncing around corners, while Heatwave and Firestorm can turn large areas into hazardous zones, making Slade a formidable attacker and defender.

Una is a versatile Defensive character in Highguard, but her kit lacks the protective capabilities of Kai’s, focusing instead on summoning distracting Wildwood spirits that bombard enemies with concussive and damaging projectiles. However, her Forest Wisps can be easily destroyed with a few shots, and I haven’t noticed the Tree Walker making a significant impact.
