The Expedition system in Arc Raiders allows you to reset your character and progress while unlocking various rewards and advantages that you wouldn’t otherwise access. Expeditions serve as the game’s version of a prestige system, where your Raider disappears, and you start anew with a character that has a higher potential for skills and stats. But is it worth it, and how does it work? Let’s break down the Expedition mechanics in Arc Raiders and how you can escape the Wasteland for good.

The second Expedition for Arc Raiders has been announced in an official developer update, adjusting some requirements and rewards based on player feedback. It will run from February 25, 2026, to March 1, 2026. Changes include:

Expeditions are projects in Arc Raiders where players build a caravan in multiple stages using components gathered from missions. Once all six stages of caravan construction are complete, players can initiate an Expedition, allowing them to reset certain aspects of their progression in exchange for new rewards.

If you successfully embark on an Expedition, your Raider will earn a mix of temporary and permanent rewards.

Temporary rewards last until you miss an Expedition during the next departure window provided by Arc Raiders, and they can stack up to three times. This means if you complete three consecutive Expeditions, you can stack the temporary rewards, but missing just one outing will cause you to lose all temporary bonuses. These rewards typically enhance gameplay rather than provide new items.

To initiate an Expedition, you must complete all project steps to construct the caravan and set off before the global Expedition Departure Window closes (indicated in the top right corner of the Expedition menu).

The Departure Window for Expeditions follows a specific calendar schedule, triggered according to a set pattern.

Certain gameplay progress in Arc Raiders resets when you trigger an Expedition, but some elements carry over. Here’s the complete list of what resets and what doesn’t.

Expeditions are worth the effort if you’re a dedicated Arc Raiders player planning to stick around. The boost in skill points and stash size is fantastic for unlocking the best Arc Raiders skills, but you do sacrifice a lot in the process. This is a decision best suited for those committed to the game and willing to start partially from scratch for the sake of replayability. Casual players who only jump in occasionally might find this choice regrettable.
