Unlocking Cinderella in Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Step-by-Step Guide

Players have been eagerly anticipating the addition of Cinderella to Disney Dreamlight Valley since its launch, and the moment has finally arrived with the new Winter Ball update. Now, you can welcome Cinderella into your valley, and the process to recruit her is refreshingly straightforward compared to the usual challenges of unlocking characters.

To start the journey of bringing Cinderella into your world, you’ll need to connect with the Fairy Godmother. Here’s how to kick off the quest:

First, check your mailbox for a letter from the Fairy Godmother, informing you that a glass slipper has gone missing in the Plaza. Locate the slipper—mine was found at the top of the stairs leading to the Peaceful Meadow—and return it to the Fairy Godmother in her house. Make sure to enter her home to initiate the quest, as interacting with her outside won’t work.

Once inside, she’ll reveal that the slipper belongs to Cinderella, who is currently missing. However, the Fairy Godmother has preserved a bit of Cinderella’s essence in a pumpkin, which could help bring her back.

Next, she’ll ask you to gather specific items from the Forgotten Lands to craft a Wish Enchantment that you’ll mix with your watering can to use on the pumpkin. Thankfully, all the required ingredients can be found in the Forgotten Lands.

After crafting the elixir at a workbench, return to the Fairy Godmother. She’ll provide you with Cinderella’s small spell pumpkin, which you need to plant like a seed anywhere in the valley and water it—don’t treat it like furniture. It takes 15 minutes to “grow,” so keep an eye on it during that time.

Once the 15 minutes are up, you’ll see large green vines sprouting from the ground. You can harvest them like any other vegetable, but you’ll soon discover that the pumpkin itself is missing. Speak to the Fairy Godmother, who mentions seeing Mickey and Remy nearby and suspects Remy might have taken it. Head over to Remy’s restaurant, and you’ll find the Spell Pumpkin sitting by the counter as soon as you enter.

When you talk to Remy, he’ll promptly return the pumpkin to you. Bring it back to the Fairy Godmother, and she’ll instruct you to place plans for Cinderella’s house somewhere in the valley and decorate the Plaza with elegant furniture. After placing the plans, interact with the sign and pay Scrooge McDuck 15,000 Star Coins to unlock the house. However, this won’t immediately summon Cinderella like it does with other villagers.

Instead, you’ll need to arrange eight pieces of “elegant” furniture around the wishing well in the Plaza, along with the Spell Pumpkin. Fortunately, your furniture inventory will highlight items that fit this description with an icon of the Fairy Godmother. Choose eight pieces from your collection and place them as close to the wishing well as possible. While you can’t place them directly on the stone around the well, positioning them nearby is perfectly fine.

After placing the Spell Pumpkin, interact with it to trigger the “Welcome, Cinderella” screen. But the quest isn’t over yet. Speak to the Fairy Godmother one last time with Cinderella, and they’ll express their gratitude for reuniting them. This wraps up the Princess and the Pumpkin quest, and you’ll have a new friend to enjoy in Dreamlight Valley.
