Unlocking the Arcane Pickaxe in The Forge: A Step-by-Step Guide
If you’ve helped the Bard track down his lost guitar, it’s time to gear up and grab the Arcane Pickaxe, the top-tier tool available in The Forge… for now, at least. The lava-filled caves of the Forgotten Kingdom can be quite daunting without upgraded gear, but this Roblox RPG has just the fix for your mining equipment needs.
You can snag the Arcane Pickaxe at Stonewake’s Cross, but first, you’ll need to delve deep into the initial zone’s cave. This isn’t a quest to rush through, even if you’ve already assisted the Bard. Those higher-level zombies can really chip away at your health when they swarm.
The Arcane Pickaxe will set you back $125,000 in The Cave, the mining area of the first zone, after you complete the Bard’s quest. It’s a straightforward task that can be wrapped up in minutes if you know where to look, but using the Bard’s Unknown Key requires a bit of patience.
Don’t even think about moving forward without the cash; I ended up waiting until I was on the final Goblin King quest before circling back to buy the pickaxe. While it’s possible to finish all five quests without the best pickaxe from The Forge, mining for rubies can become a real hassle.
I recommend sticking with the main questline in the Forgotten Kingdom and crafting armor pieces to sell along the way (Heavy Armor is a great choice since it’s easy to make and fetches a good price). Once you’ve got enough gold, head back to Stonewake’s Cross and enter The Cave. Take the rightmost path, as shown in the video, and you’ll eventually find a gate. Use the Unknown Key to unlock it and step into the room where you can purchase the pickaxe.

While tougher zombie mobs can be a nuisance, gold is the real hurdle between you and the Arcane Pickaxe. I suggest crafting and selling as much gear as you can before going after the game’s best pickaxe, and check out some tips for The Forge for additional guidance. Keep an eye out for new codes, too; those rerolls can be a lifesaver for snagging extra races or luck totems.
That wraps up the questline, but your work with the Arcane Pickaxe is just beginning. This Starite tool comes with three rune slots, and I recommend filling them with luck-based miner runes. Farming runes isn’t too difficult, but finding the perfect stat setup can be a bit of a grind.
For reference, I only used Miner Shards with over a 10% Luck bonus in all three slots, selling anything below that. I ended up with a ton of 6% or 8% Luck runes, but my first drop was a solid 16%. It’s worth sifting through the lesser runes to stack Luck for easier ore farming.
