Unlocking Transmog in The Witcher 3 Remastered: A Quick Guide

⚔️ You can transmog armor with Yoana at Crow’s Perch after completing the Master Armorers quest.⚔️ To transmog swords, visit Hattori in Novigrad after finishing the Of Swords and Dumplings quest.⚔️ Any armor or sword Geralt collects unlocks as a skin.⚔️ Each skin swap costs between 100-200 coins.

One of the standout features in The Witcher 3 Remastered is the ability to transmog armor and swords, allowing you to change their appearances freely.

Transmogrification isn’t available at every blacksmith; you can only do this with the two master smiths: Yoana at Crow’s Perch for armor and Éibhear Hattori in Novigrad for swords.

To unlock their services, you need to complete specific quests:

Start by talking to Fergus Graem, the dwarf armorer at Crow’s Perch, and inquire about mastercrafted armor. Yoana will then send you on a quest to Undvik in Skellige to retrieve some blacksmith tools.

Next, visit Éibhear Hattori at his shop in Novigrad, located northwest of Glory Gate, to initiate his quest and gain access to his blacksmithing services.

Once you’ve unlocked Yoana and Hattori, simply select the “reforge” tab in the top right corner when crafting or purchasing from them.

A few additional notes on transmog:

???? Griffin: A medium set ideal for sign users
????‍⬛ Feline: A light set for high damage output
???? Ursine: A heavy set focused on defense
???? Wolven: A versatile medium set

Unfortunately, this system doesn’t retroactively apply, so if you’re at endgame and haven’t kept every armor piece, you’ll need to reacquire them or retrieve them from your stash to unlock their skins—not the most convenient method, and hopefully, this will be addressed in a future patch.

Interestingly, despite being a master smith who creates grandmaster witcher gear, Lazare Lafargue in the Blood and Wine DLC also lacks the ability to transmog armor. Here’s hoping that gets fixed soon.
