What to Expect from an Expedition Project in Arc Raiders

December 17, 2025: The window for embarking on Expeditions is now open until December 22. We’ve updated the “Expedition steps and materials” section with details on how to wrap up your project and set off.

While Arc Raiders doesn’t feature traditional extraction shooter wipes like some other games, it caters to fans of that classic gameplay loop through its Expedition system. This allows you to reset much of your progress for additional rewards, akin to the prestige mode found in other titles.

With high stakes and enticing rewards at play, it’s crucial to understand what you’re getting into if you’re considering sending your raider on an Expedition. Below, I’ll outline how to embark on an Expedition, what you need to prepare, and what progress you’ll retain versus what you’ll lose.

Expeditions serve as Arc Raiders’ version of server wipes, offering an optional way to retire your raiders and ‘prestige’ your account, which involves losing most of your progression. There are five main stages to complete before reaching the final departure window, each requiring you to gather different items and resources to construct a caravan and prepare for travel.

Only after finishing these preparation steps can you officially send your raider off, never to return.

Keep in mind that Expeditions follow an approximate eight-week schedule, giving you 60 days to collect resources for your caravan and supply it, followed by a seven-day window to depart.

Missing the departure window means you’ll forfeit its buffs until the next Expedition cycle. However, if your project isn’t finished by the end of the construction phase, your progress will carry over until the next finalization window. So, plan your contributions and availability wisely to avoid wasting valuable time or resources.

The first Expedition Project in Arc Raiders kicks off at launch on October 30, 2025, with a final departure date of December 22, 2025.

Once you complete the necessary steps to start an Expedition, much of your progress will reset, but you’ll retain cosmetics and earn rewards and advantages that carry over to your next character until the next Expedition cycle. For dedicated raiders, these advantages can be amplified by sending characters on up to three future Expeditions.

From there, you can contribute various materials toward building your Expedition caravan. Remember, once you commit materials to the project, they cannot be retrieved.
