Will Resetti Make an Appearance in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

Is Resetti in Animal Crossing: New Horizons? This is a burning question for anyone who’s ventured into the world of Animal Crossing, as many players have felt the wrath of the angriest mole around. Mr. Resetti was infamous for giving players a hard time if they dared to quit without saving. Despite his tough love approach, fans have been curious about his whereabouts in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

With the arrival of the 3.0 update, Resetti makes a triumphant return, and he’s not just back in voice. Now, when you pull out your NookPhone, you can access the Reset Service, allowing you to enlist Resetti (Reset-ti, clever, right?) to tidy up specific areas of your island.

Although he lost his previous role when the lead developer mentioned in 2019 that Resetti had been “laid off,” he was later removed from Animal Crossing: New Leaf on the 3DS. Harsh, right? However, it was revealed by the same lead developer that Resetti has found a new gig in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Before the 3.0 update, he only appeared through the Rescue Service, ready to assist if you found yourself in a bind or needed a quick travel option for 100 Nook Miles. His app icon features his iconic whiskey nose and builder’s hat.

When you call the Rescue Service, the unmistakable music and voice of Resetti greet you, as he serves as the dispatcher rather than making a physical appearance in the game.

I hoped that using the Rescue Service more frequently would increase the chances of Resetti either a) scolding me like the old days (I must have a problem, right?) or b) messing up the dispatch and sending me to his office. Unfortunately, no matter how many times I try, I always end up where I intended. Still, the conversations are filled with Resetti’s classic hints, nods, and references, even beyond the Rescue Service.

In the 3.0 update, the Reset Service allows you to request Resetti to clean up your entire beach, island, or a specific area. You can even ask him to dispose of items he collects or store them for you. That’s right—he’s actually helpful now, not just a source of frustration. How great is that?
