The first game from Liquid Swords is set to launch in early 2026, as revealed during the recent PC Gaming Show. Titled _Samson: A Tyndalston Story_, this game is described as “a consequence-heavy noir action game” and follows the story of Samson McCray, a man entangled in significant debt in a harsh urban environment.

While the debut trailer keeps much of the narrative under wraps, it evokes a gritty, Max Payne-like atmosphere. The combat appears intense and impactful, suggesting that Liquid Swords aims to create a deeply immersive experience. The studio emphasizes the game’s core theme: “Samson is built on a simple, brutal truth: every day costs you. Debt grows with interest, and time works against you. Each job burns a limited pool of Action Points, and every decision shifts how the city treats you—there are no do-overs. You move forward because standing still makes everything worse.”

Liquid Swords has been hinting at this project for some time. Founded in 2020 by Christofer Sundberg, the mind behind the Just Cause series, the studio boasts a talented team that includes developers from _Mad Max_ and the Battlefield franchise. They are leveraging their extensive experience in combat mechanics, systemic design, animation, and action-driven storytelling to craft _Samson_.

Unlike the expansive nature of Just Cause, _Samson_ promises a more streamlined experience, which may be reflected in its $25 price point. Earlier this year, the studio faced challenges that led to a workforce reduction, a move they deemed necessary for long-term sustainability in a tough industry landscape. _Samson: A Tyndalston Story_ will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store in early 2026, with console availability yet to be confirmed.
