Tune in for the Day of the Devs: Game Awards 2025 at 1 PM ET!
The 2025 edition of the Day of the Devs digital showcase is set to kick off on Wednesday, December 10 at 1 PM ET, streaming live on Twitch and YouTube. This event takes place over 30 hours before The Game Awards, which is fitting given its name. The showcase truly deserves its own time in the limelight, especially considering its past successes.
This year’s Day of the Devs: The Game Awards Digital Showcase will spotlight 22 indie games, featuring three release date announcements and six world premieres. It’s shaping up to be an exciting lineup, even by Day of the Devs standards. Expect to see contributions from developers like 17-BIT, BONE Assembly, Capybara Games, Deconstructeam, and Panic Stations, along with titles from publishers such as Annapurna Interactive, Devolver, and Blumhouse Games.
Each showcase typically runs for about an hour, highlighting a selection of impressive indie games across various genres, all accompanied by insights from the creators. The games are carefully curated by industry veterans, and previous showcases have provided early glimpses at future hits like Animal Well, Blue Prince, Cocoon, Despelote, Crow Country, Phoenix Springs, Skate Story, UFO 50, Eternights, Sorry We’re Closed, and many more.
Day of the Devs operates as a non-profit initiative, offering a platform for independent creators to present their games to a broad audience at no cost. It was founded by the team at Double Fine Productions and iam8bit, and while it accepts donations, it also receives backing from various industry partners, including Xbox, PlayStation, and Summer Game Fest.
The Game Awards 2025 will commence on Thursday, December 11 at 7:30 PM ET, starting with a half-hour pre-show. While the event is sure to exceed an hour in length, we’ll see together if it features more game reveals than Day of the Devs.
