Saudia Enhances EWC 2026 Collaboration with Custom-Branded Aircraft
Saudia has broadened its collaboration with the Esports World Cup, becoming the official airline for the tournament’s 2026 edition in Paris.
The Saudi national airline will operate a specially branded Esports World Cup aircraft on daily flights between Riyadh and Paris during the event. This aircraft is set to remain in service across Saudia’s international routes for two years, enhancing the sponsorship’s visibility well beyond the seven-week competition. This initiative marks the first time a commercial aircraft has been dedicated to an esports event.
The partnership also includes travel support for players, fans, creators, clubs, and event staff. Saudia has already transported thousands connected to the tournament to Paris, including selected fans and content creators.
Additional features include Esports World Cup programming available through Saudia’s BEYOND in-flight entertainment system and select live broadcasts in the airline’s lounges. Saudia will also host a Fortnite community competition featuring a virtual airport and aircraft modeled after the branded plane, with winners receiving tickets to attend EWC 2026.
This announcement builds on a relationship formed during the 2025 Esports World Cup in Riyadh, where Saudia served as the official airline partner, providing travel packages and supporting the tournament’s sports-tourism focus.
The renewed agreement holds greater operational and marketing importance as EWC 2026 is the first edition held outside Saudi Arabia. By connecting Riyadh and Paris, Saudia not only acts as a sponsor but also plays a crucial role in the event’s travel logistics, while promoting Saudi Arabia on an international platform.
EWC 2026 will take place until August 23 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, featuring over 2,000 players and 200 clubs from more than 100 countries competing across 25 tournaments in 24 games for a prize pool exceeding $75 million.
Details regarding the financial terms and the duration of Saudia’s official-airline status have not been disclosed.
